Monsieur
Butterfly
Turbulence
theory and the butterfly effect, plus my shyness of revealing mad
suspicions.
‘Insanity
and non-recurrence’ and ‘Art compromised and the art of compromising’,
written
thirty years
ago, are the only texts publicized on my art tracking methods.
Scientists
call for more imaginativeness in unveiling the secrets of the universe.
Is
it not in alliance with
artists?
Turbulence
theory, which has more followers than chaos theory, has been created by
scientists.
When I am
meditating on my imagination, asking myself whether it is unique and can
be moored
to the
existing structure as yet another module, I am afflicted with ‘recurrent
non-recurrence’.
Thirty-six
nuissance calls in a day. The harrassment goes on for six months, with
rings to my
gate at night,
and . nally the police protecting me against the madman.
A stranger, he
shouts hideous insults and threats aimed at the girl who has left him. She
lives
with her
parents on my street. I come to know quite a lot about him. I record what
he says
and listen to
the recordings. A terribly lonely man who takes his revenge on me for his
mutilated ego.
When I thus
sit it front of my house, listening to his monologues yet again, a
butterfly sits on my
knee. A butterfl
y. ‘Monsieur Butterfl y!’ I exclaim. I raise my arms for joy, I feel
them piercing
the air,protruding
like two antennas towards the cosmos. The butter. y is still on my knee,
its wings moving gently. When I
put my arms down and blood is back in my veins, I see fragments of text flashing
beneath one:
‘The typhoon is ravaging the area… The number of casualties has
reached…’
I don’t know
when the butterfly has gone.
